Westminster Sports Travel During Spring Break

Westminster’s softball, baseball, and lacrosse teams all travelled over spring break.

Spring break was a travel week for Westminster Blue Jay softball, baseball, and lacrosse. The teams travelled to different parts of the country, each spending a week in a destination with better weather than in Missouri.


The softball team travelled to California, the baseball team travelled to Florida, and the lacrosse team went to Colorado.

The Lady Blue Jays softball team won one game and lost 5 in California. The team played 6 games over a three-day span and were challenged with tough competition. The team faced California Lutheran University, Vanguard University, and the University of Redlands. Westminster’s only win was against California Lutheran University.

The Blue Jays won 2-1, with sophomore pitcher, Madison Ingram, on the mound. The team heads into conference play with a record of three wins and 9 losses. The team later traveled to Grinnell, Iowa, for a tournament on March 30 and 31.

Westminster Baseball won one game and lost 5 in Florida. The team faced Centre College, Western New England University, Benedictine University, and Union College. The team won its first game in Florida, beating Centre College 9-3. Ian Cassidy, junior pitcher, got the win in 7 innings.

The newly founded Westminster Women’s Lacrosse team made the trip to Colorado Springs, Colorado. The Blue Jays played two games on their trip facing University of Colorado-Colorado Springs and Adams State University. The team lost both games, bringing its record to 0 wins and 8 losses. Playing goal in the game against UCCS, freshman Nickee Brumbaugh had 13 saves.
